About

BECRIT is a blog that shares my thoughts on what I experienced during a film projection, while reading a book, or during an exhibition in a random country. I am also picking photos from the past in order to remember the ones who inspire our community nowadays.

I feel like arts is a broad subject. I always get that urge to share my ideas and opinions about what I felt while being a spectator. By putting my thoughts into writing, it helps me to be clear-minded and sure of what I really think. It becomes real when I share it with others.

BECRIT was named in this way to encourage my readers to BE CRITICAL. I believe that sharing our own judgment helps to build a more stable state of mind and a determined point of view on our society. The use of arts such as cinema, literature, painting, photography… has become a mirror of the humankind and its community. It gives to the viewer opportunities to discover the world like never before. Technology is used as a way not only to explore the unknown but also to make us witnesses of the evolution of the world around us.

BECRIT was also chosen due to its relevance with my nickname: Bert. Indeed, BEcRiT is a page in which you will read my opinion on things and my depiction of what I felt and thought when experiencing any forms of arts. I would be more than satisfied if you could share and interact with my thoughts because I believe that listening to other’s ideas helps to grow our own perspective.

BECRIT, refers to my double nationality. I am French but studying in England since 8 years. In this sense, BECRIT stands for ‘B ECRIT’ which means ‘B (for Bertille) writes’ in French. In this page, I am trying to mix both cultures to create a binational view on arts that will embody our differences and similarities within the world.

Hope you will enjoy it ! Please share your thoughts on the Facebook page 🙂
